Commis Chef (The Westin Dragonara Resort)

• Follows menus and recipes in preparing food items needed for the shift
• Prepares and presents all items in accordance with recipe specifications.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness of work area, including but not limited to refrigerators, freezers, ovens, shelves, worktables and sinks.
• Keeps himself/herself updated with new trends of food preparation.
• Judges quality of products in view of freshness and expiry dates.
• Informs appropriate supervisor in case of any shortages and quality problems.
• Verifies quality of food items issued and/or received from the stores and suppliers. 
• Returns all items to proper storage areas after use. 
• Monitors all equipment’s functionality, including but not limited to refrigerators and freezers and reports any problem in solved. 
• Seeks own solutions to the minor obstacles that occur from time to time.
