The HR Total Rewards Partner – Compensation & Benefits serves as a key member of the Human Resources team, supporting the administration and continuous improvement of the institution’s compensation, benefits, wellness, and total rewards programs for faculty and staff.
This role combines compensation analysis, job evaluation, salary administration, benefits administration, Workday HR systems support, employee communications, compliance, and wellness initiatives. The position partners with HR colleagues, institutional leaders, employees, and external vendors to deliver accurate, equitable, competitive, and effective total rewards programs within a higher education environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and professionalism with compensation experience; the ability to present and translate information into clear guidance for employees and leaders and present. Experience with Workday, higher education, compensation structures, job architecture, and benefits and wellness communication and communication, plus a focus on total rewards compliance is highly valued. Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish is also desired.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with the opportunity to work off campus up to two days per week.
Responsibilities

~2 min read- Maintain and update compensation, job, organizational, and benefits data within Workday and related HR systems.
- Support Workday business processes related to compensation, benefits, open enrollment, job changes, and organizational assignments.
- Assist with Workday testing, audits, reporting validation, and system updates.
- Generate and analyze Workday reports and dashboards related to compensation, benefits, staffing, and total rewards activities.
- Partner with HRIS and Information Technology teams to troubleshoot system issues and improve data accuracy and process efficiency.
- Assist with maintaining security roles, workflows, and documentation related to total rewards processes within Workday.
- Provide end-user support and guidance to employees and managers regarding Workday compensation and benefits transactions.
- Participate in Workday enhancement initiatives, process improvements, and training activities.
- Assist in coordinating employee wellness and well-being initiatives and events.
- Develop and distribute employee communications related to compensation, benefits, wellness, and open enrollment.
- Prepare presentations, guides, FAQs, and informational materials for employees and departments.
- Conduct employee orientation and benefits information sessions as needed.
- Maintain and update total rewards information on institutional websites and internal communication platforms.
- Maintain accurate compensation and benefits records and documentation.
- Generate reports and assist with data tracking and analysis related to compensation and benefits programs.
- Support HR recordkeeping, audits, and documentation management activities.
- Assist with process improvements related to compensation and benefits administration.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of employee and institutional information.
Requirements
~3 min read- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in full cycle compensation or total rewards administration.
- Experience conducting compensation analysis, job evaluation, and salary administration.
- Expertise in MS Office/Excel; Compensation analysis
- Knowledge of benefits regulations, administration, principles and practices.
- Working knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (Workday preferred) Microsoft Excel, and other office applications.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Bilingual - able to speak, write and read Spanish
- Experience working in higher education; familiarity with faculty and staff employment structures.
- Professional certification such as CEBS, CCP, or related certification.
- Experience with compensation surveys and HR reporting tools.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and virtually.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 15 pounds occasionally.

Compensation/Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $87,000/year. It is competitive, market-based, and aligned with the University’s financial framework, ensuring your skills and experience are recognized and rewarded.
