Land Survey Crew Member

Maverick Engineering is currently looking for a field crew member to join our surveying team. If you prefer to work outside instead of sitting behind a desk, this is the job for you. As a Crew Member in Land Surveying, you will work primarily in the field on control, boundary, improvement, construction layout, and topographic surveys, as part of a two or three person field crew under the guidance of a Party Chief.

What you will get to do:

• Learn how to set up and use all survey equipment and assist the Crew Chief
• Learn and mature in the art of land surveying
• Travel to local and regional job sites
• Assist in managing supplies & equipment
• Download field data, cut line, setting stakes and irons, locating improvements, keeping notes, taking pictures, and other general duties as directed by the Crew Chief
• Carry instruments, field equipment, hammers, stakes, nails, etc.
• Keep survey crew vehicle supplied with equipment; clean and organize vehicle
• Carry out instructions and tasks assigned by Party Chief
  

Schedule:

• 8pm-5pm, Monday-Friday
• Occasional Overtime or Weekend Offerings
• Occasional Overnight Deployments (typically less than 1 week total per year)

You will be a good fit if:

• 1-2 years’ prior survey experience preferred but not required
• Enjoy working outdoors
• Have a valid driver’s license
• Good communication skills
• Reliable and willing to work in various outdoor conditions
• Can pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical
• Must be willing to have fun
• Ability to regularly lift materials and items in excess of 50 pounds
• Ability to work outdoors full time in every season
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time in a variety of terrains

Qualifications:

• Work authorization (Required)
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
