Introduction

We at the Potomac Center/SETT facility provide quality person-centered support to adults with intellectual disabilities at our campus in Hagerstown, Maryland. Our aim is to partner with the community to help our residents achieve their goals.The Potomac Center is a 62-bed licensed Intermediate Care Facility (ICF). This program focuses on using therapeutic interventions to empower residents as they learn the skills they need to successfully return to community living.The Secure Evaluation and Therapeutic Treatment (SETT) Program, located within the Potomac Center campus, is a 32-bed licensed Forensic Residential Center that provides services to individuals with intellectual disabilities and court involvement within a safe and secure environment. The program provides assistance as they resolve their court involvement and work toward transitioning to a less secured environment. The SETT utilizes active treatment as well as providing evaluation, assessment and competency attainment education.\r\n

Main Purpose of Job

This position will perform the following duties:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Helping each person served meet their personal outcomes.\r\n Successfully completing all in-service training modules inclusive of classroom, demonstrated competencies and CNA related.\r\n Full compliance with applicable policies and procedures relating to both Individual care as well as identified outcomes and measures in place in furtherance of same.\r\n Provision of quality services in such representative areas as equipment utilization, data collection, personal hygiene, and programming.\r\n Matching newly-acquired skills to enhance growth and development of persons served per their Individualized Plan (IP) goals.\r\n Discharging all duties and conducting oneself at all times per all relevant regulations, standards, policies and procedures including: Departments of Budget and Management and Mental Health and Hygiene; Title 17 CODE OF MARYLAND REGULATIONS; Office of Health Care Quality; ICF-ID; Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services; CNA Certification/statutory requirements; The Mandt System; and Potomac Center/SETT.\r\n\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:�Three years of\r\nexperience providing direct client services in a�developmental disability\r\nor similar behavior modification setting.\r\n\r\n\r\nNotes:�\r\n1.�Candidates may substitute the\r\ncompletion of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university with 15\r\ncredit hours in health or human services, education or the behavioral sciences\r\nand one year of experience providing direct client services in a developmental\r\ndisability or similar behavior modification setting for the required\r\nexperience.�\r\n2.�Candidates may substitute the\r\npossession of an Associate of Arts or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited\r\ncollege or university with a specialization in the treatment\r\nof�developmental disabilities in a mental health or closely�related curriculum\r\nincluding a supervised clinical practicum in a developmental disability or\r\nsimilar behavior modification setting for the required experience.�\r\n3.�Candidates may substitute U.S.\r\nArmed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in\r\nHospital Corpsman classifications or Health Care Specialist and Medical\r\nServices specialty codes in the health related field of�work on a\r\nyear-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:\r\n\r\n\r\n Experience supervising direct care staff.�\r\n Experience working with the intellectually disabled population in a forensic setting.\r\n\r\n\r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this\r\nclassification must possess a current certificate as a Nursing Assistant from\r\nthe Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland\r\n21215. Persons appointed to a position in this classification without\r\ncertification as a Nursing Assistant must successfully complete a Board of\r\nNursing approved nursing assistant training program and receive certification\r\nas a Nursing Assistant within six months from date of hire prior to performing\r\ndelegated nursing tasks. Appointees who fail to successfully complete this\r\nrequirement will not be retained in these positions.\r\n\r\n\r\n2. Employees in this classification\r\nmay be required to successfully complete training in and maintain current\r\ncardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.\r\n\r\n

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this\r\nclassification are subject to call-in 24 hours a day and, therefore, will be\r\nrequired to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can\r\nbe reached.\r\n
