LOCATION OF POSITION

MDH, Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, Jessup, MD\r\n

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide Occupational Therapy\r\nassessment, evaluation, and treatment services to forensic psychiatric patients at\r\nClifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, supervising lower-level Occupational\r\nTherapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants. It may also supervise other\r\nsupport staff.�\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:� Determined by\r\nthe Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice under the licensing\r\nrequirements for Occupational Therapists.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience: Four years of experience as an Occupational Therapist.�\r\n\r\n\r\nNotes:�\r\n1. Candidates may substitute a\r\nMaster’s degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational\r\nTherapy for two years of the required experience.��\r\n\r\n\r\n2.�Candidates may substitute U.S.\r\nArmed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Therapy\r\nclassifications or Therapy specialty codes in the Occupation Therapy field of\r\nwork on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:\r\n\r\n\r\n Experience supervising a clinical team within a psychiatric setting, specifically by resolving conflict, fostering team cohesion and accountability, and designing evidence-based, structured OT programs.�\r\n Experience leading departmental or hospital-wide Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives, or systematically using outcome data to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of Occupational Therapy programs.�\r\n Experience with strategic resource allocation, including managing program resources, approving equipment procurement, or coordinating large-scale logistics, such as student fieldwork or internship programs.\r\n\r\n\r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this\r\nclassification must possess a current license as an Occupational Therapist from\r\nthe Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice, Spring Grove\r\nHospital Center, 55 Wade Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21228.\r\n2. Employees in this classification\r\nmay be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification of\r\ncardiopulmonary resuscitation training.�\r\n3. Employees in this classification\r\nmay be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.\r\nEmployees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle\r\noperator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n\r\n
