The Senior Manager, Data Platforms & Analytics will lead the development and ongoing evolution of Medline Canada’s data foundation, business intelligence, and analytics capabilities.

This role will establish the strategy, roadmap, governance, and operating model for a secure and scalable Microsoft Fabric-based data platform. The Senior Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for data architecture, engineering, integration, governance, semantic modelling, and Power BI solutions.

Working closely with Canadian business leaders, IT teams, Medline’s US Data and Business Intelligence organization, and implementation partners, the role will enable trusted, reusable, and Canadian-resident data products that support operational reporting, executive decision-making, advanced analytics, and future AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • →Define and execute the strategy and roadmap for Medline Canada’s data platform, data governance, business intelligence, and analytics capabilities.
  • →Lead the architecture, implementation, and ongoing operation of Medline Canada’s Microsoft Fabric-based data foundation, including development, test, and production environments.
  • →Establish scalable and reusable patterns for data ingestion, transformation, storage, semantic modelling, security, monitoring, and support.
  • →Oversee the integration of data from SAP, CRM, eCommerce, master data, and other enterprise systems, working closely with application and functional subject-matter experts.
  • →Lead the delivery of governed data products, certified Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and analytical datasets that provide consistent and trusted business information.
  • →Establish data governance practices covering ownership, stewardship, business definitions, quality, metadata, lineage, access, retention, and lifecycle management.
  • →Ensure that Canadian data residency, privacy, security, access-control, and audit requirements are incorporated into platform architecture and operations.
  • →Partner with business leaders to identify and prioritize high-value data and analytics opportunities across Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, Healthcare, Dental, and eCommerce.
  • →Lead the rationalization of duplicated datasets, departmental extracts, legacy reports, and inconsistent KPI definitions.
  • →Build, lead, and develop a multidisciplinary data and analytics team, establishing clear responsibilities and effective delivery and support practices.
  • →Work with project management resources to define scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, budgets, resource requirements, and measurable business outcomes.
  • →Direct external implementation partners by defining clear architecture, requirements, deliverables, quality standards, documentation, and knowledge-transfer expectations.
  • →Collaborate with Medline’s US and global data teams to reuse proven architecture, governance, and delivery practices while addressing Canadian requirements.
  • →Establish performance measures for platform reliability, data quality, delivery speed, adoption, reuse, business value, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Business Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Significant progressive experience in enterprise data platforms, data engineering, business intelligence, analytics, or related technology functions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and delivering enterprise-scale data initiatives within a complex organization.
  • Strong understanding of modern cloud data platforms, data architecture, lakehouse concepts, data engineering, semantic modelling, and data governance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure data services, or comparable cloud data and analytics technologies.
  • Experience integrating data from ERP and other enterprise applications. SAP ECC, S/4HANA, CRM, or eCommerce experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of data security, privacy, access controls, auditability, and data-residency requirements.
  • Experience managing implementation partners, contractors, offshore resources, budgets, delivery risks, and technology vendors.
  • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder-management, and organizational change skills.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts and data opportunities into clear business outcomes, priorities, and executive decisions.

 

 

  • An approved and actively managed Canadian data and analytics roadmap.
  • Successful establishment and operation of the Canadian Microsoft Fabric environment.
  • Delivery and adoption of governed data products and certified Power BI models.
  • Documented ownership, definitions, access controls, and quality standards for priority data domains.
  • Reduced duplication of data pipelines, extracts, datasets, and reports.
  • Improved reliability and delivery time for analytics solutions.
  • Effective development of the Canadian data and analytics team.
  • Demonstrable business value from delivered data products and analytics capabilities.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$128,200.00 - $192,200.00 Annual
