Specialist, Quality Assurance (SWGD080)

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to support the quality processes and perform quality audits within the Switchgear Division. Oversee document approval process and ensure accuracy of documentation. Provide technical support for process related and/or supplier related process improvement. This is an onsite position based in Warrendale, PA

• →Oversee and review documents and document approval process for accuracy and accountability.
• →Present and report nonconformance to QA Manager on a weekly basis and recommend solutions.
• →Promote quality awareness and quality procedures to help reduce process and/or product-related quality problems.
• →Perform audits and provide training to new vendors to familiarize them with MEPPI Quality Assurance procedures.
• →Evaluate vendor quality prior to vendor approval.
• →Collaborate with and assist the Manufacturing, Engineering and Sales Departments to prevent and/or remedy quality problems.
• →Travel to vendor locations to analyze and remedy quality problems as needed.
• →Assist in the coordination of vendor and customer visits.
• →Prepare documents to support customer audits and witness testing.
• →Contact vendors to discuss material specifications, needs and quality problems caused by material and/or sub-components.
• →Assist the Quality Manager to develop required quality control policies, procedures, forms, checklists, reports, etc., for vendor or factory assembly, test and shipping.
• →Create quality plans per the recommendation of the Quality Assurance Manager.
• →Review vendors’ quality assurance programs and assist them to meet MEPPI requirements.
• →Track and trend vendor NCR’s for the Quality Assurance Manager.
• →Assist with ISO QMS audit planning and scheduling. Participate in ISO audits.
• →Further the goals and positive, professional image of Switchgear through interaction with other MEPPI Departments and vendors.
• →Know MEPPI’s Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work.
• →Provide back up support for Field Incident reporting.

• Bachelor’s degree in technical field with 0-2 years of experience in a quality control/inspection role, or equivalent education and experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of quality control, engineering, production, and statistical methods and techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills required to communicate with employees, vendors and customers.
• Intermediate analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and material.
• Intermediate computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products. Experience with Power BI is a plus.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 25%, as needed.
