As a consultant on the Operational Excellence Consulting team, you are responsible for driving successful outcomes for clients who have escalated metering and billing concerns. You are also responsible for driving cross-team alignment to implement sustainable corrective actions.
You will lead client escalation projects from investigation to resolution. This often involves on-site investigations, analyses (energy and water data, financial impact, root cause), corrective action planning and execution, and client communication. Typical responsibilities include:
Maintain clear project priorities and ensure high-quality, timely deliverables are provided
Lead investigations to validate submetering designs, accuracy of project documentation, hardware installations, and billing methodologies. Identify gaps or discrepancies.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of meter and billing configurations by performing data analysis, validating energy and water rate models and identifying billing anomalies.
Assess issue scope and financial impact by developing materiality estimates and partnering with subject matter experts to validate outcomes.
Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, communicating insights, risks, and recommendations to leadership while driving cross-functional alignment.
Ensure effective execution and sustainability of corrective actions by monitoring outcomes and confirming resolution of identified issues.
Support client communications by translating technical findings into clear, concise messaging and providing subject matter expertise as required.
Travelling to client sites throughout Canada and the USA.
Post-secondary education in Engineering, Energy Systems, Business, or a related discipline
2 years of experience in utilities, submetering, energy management, or a related analytical field
Strong understanding of metering systems, data validation, and billing processes
Strong written and oral communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated experience managing complex investigations and cross-functional initiatives
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools; experience with metering or billing platforms is an asset
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., Measurement Canada, OEB) is preferred
