Adaptfy is growing! At Adaptfy, we are looking for a Data Governance Lead with 5-8 years of experience, to join our Data and Analytics team at our Digital Campus in Porto.

Adaptfy is a turnkey data & analytics solution for the SHV family of companies. We support multiple SHV Groups with advanced Data & Analytics in all areas, elevating their operations in diverse industries across international markets and throughout entire value chains.

Responsibilities

You will help one SHV Group turn data governance from concept into daily practice, starting with the domain where the value and the stakeholder buy-in are highest, then help Adaptfy turn what works into reusable methods for other SHV companies.

→
Identify priority stakeholders, pain points, and governance gaps together with business and IT.
→
Define clear ownership, data owners, stewards, custodians, and decision forums, and get stakeholders to commit to them.
→
Facilitate workshops to align business and technical stakeholders on ownership, definitions, and decision-making.
→
Turn what works into reusable templates, playbooks, and accelerators for other SHV Groups.
→
Draw on Adaptfy' s technical, architecture, and privacy specialists to execute the detailed technical work.

Experience initiating a data or governance effort from scratch, including securing sponsorship and stakeholder buy-in, not only joining one that someone else already set up.
→
Comfortable, and energized, engaging senior business stakeholders directly, building those relationships yourself rather than being introduced into existing ones.
→
Ability to take a broad, ambiguous mandate and structure it into a clear first starting point.
→
Strong communication skills, able to translate data concepts into business value for both technical and business audiences.
→
4 to 6 years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, analytics, business analysis, or a related field, still growing toward a broader governance leadership role.
→
Working understanding of data platforms and why governance matters.
→
Proactive, comfortable with ambiguity, and resilient.

Nice to have:

→
Familiarity with governance frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK, CDMP) or tools (Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Microsoft Purview).
→
Experience in ESG, Finance, HR, Operations, Supply Chain, or another domain where data ownership matters.
→
Experience in a consulting, international, or multi-entity organization.
→
Basic SQL, BI, or data platform knowledge, and awareness of GDPR or other data protection principles.
