Nature of Work
The fundamental reason this position\r\nexists is to provide technical and logistical support for analyzing, planning, developing,\r\nand the administration of a city/county-wide emergency management training and\r\nexercise program with an emphasis on the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) and\r\nstate and local Medical Countermeasure (MCM) plans.� The work responsibilities are assisting with\r\ncoordinating the planning and exercise training of the SNS program; maintaining and organizing stockpile; identifying and researching grant funds; and serving\r\nin various roles during Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activations. Direct\r\nsupervision is received from the EMA Operations Officer. �\r\n
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and one\r\n(1) year of professional experience in providing technical and administrative support\r\nin emergency management, emergency response, coordinating emergency measures or\r\nservices including management, planning, and training.� \r\nNOTE:�Qualifying education, training and experience that\r\nprovide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will\r\nbe considered.\r\n\r\n
Special Requirements
Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Basic Emergency\r\nManager certification from the State of Alabama or FEMA within two years of\r\nhire. Must live within a response time of sixty (60) minutes to the Emergency\r\nManagement Operations Center.� Must have and maintain a valid Alabama\r\nDriver's License in order to operate government vehicles.\r\nWORKING CONDITIONS: Must\r\nbe willing to be on call 24 hours a day in order to respond to disasters or\r\nhazards.� Must be willing to attend training out-of-town which requires\r\novernight stays.\r\n
Kind of Examination
