ECCC Financial Counselor

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Financial Counselor with our ECCC Patient Support. 

The incumbent receives and reviews new patient, identified problems, contacts patients and/or third party payers  to secure information details, payments or alternative settlement plans.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Minimum of up to 1 Year of Position-Related Experience is required
• 2 to 5 Years of Position-Related Experience is preferred

The kind of position-related experience includes:

Must have a positive experience and have demonstrated the ability to effectively work with the public.  Prefer at least 6 months work experience in a medical office setting.  The ability to secure information and make arrangements in difficult situations.  Knowledge of medical terminology including CPT and ICD-9 coding, processing and computer experience a must.  Proven ability and  willingness to work with the assist patients, coworkers, physicians and general public.  Willing to take initiative, inquisitive, courteous and respectful.

1. Pass employee health screening
2. Prolonged, extensive or considerable sitting, walking, and standing.
3. Lift, position, push and/or transfer patients.
4. Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
5. Contact with patient in a variety of circumstances
6. Subject to varying or unpredictable circumstances or crisis situations
7. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours/absences will be closely scrutinized.
8. Frequent stimuli such as multiple meetings, phone calls, and inquiries may occur.
