Principal AI Strategy Architect

Micron’s IT organization seeks a Principal Architect to lead our AI Strategy and Emerging Systems efforts. In this strategic role, you will research, investigate, track, and evaluate innovative AI capabilities. These include generative LLMs, agentic systems, and multimodal AI. You will rapidly prototype proof-of-concepts and translate innovations into clear business opportunities supported by accurate risk controls. You will partner with AI Enablement, IT, and business teams to ensure our AI roadmap stays on the forefront while upholding Micron’s values and governance standards.

  Discover, track, and assess emerging AI capabilities and trends: (GenAI, agentic systems, multimodal, retrieval, model customization, inference optimization, governance tooling, and security patterns), translating developments into relevance for Micron’s business and technology landscape.

• Proven success delivering impact in generative AI/AI models and architecture roles, including leadership contributions across enterprise environments.

• Designing and deploying enterprise-scale generative AI/AI model platforms.

• 8+ years experience across cloud ecosystems (Azure/AWS/GCP), data engineering, and full MLOps lifecycle automation.

• Strong command of modern generative AI frameworks and tooling (PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, vector databases) plus robust grounding in AI governance, security, privacy, and NIST AI RMF.

• Outstanding communicator skilled in executive-level storytelling, multi-functional influence, and quickly adopting and operationalizing emerging AI technologies.

• Experience in semiconductor or manufacturing industries (understanding of MES, OT/IT integration, IP protection).

• Hands-on coding and prototyping ability in Python or similar, with familiarity of frontend technologies (for AI UX demos).

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Relevant certifications (e.g. Azure AI Engineer, Certified AI Professional).

• History of presenting at industry events or leading AI communities.
