As a Wet Mechanical Systems Operations Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery and long-term success of wet mechanical systems supporting Micron’s New York expansion. You will provide technical oversight throughout design, construction, commissioning, and transition to operations, helping ensure systems are safe, reliable, and ready to support manufacturing from day one. Responsibilities: * Oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of wet mechanical systems, including plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, and process piping * Review engineering deliverables such as P&IDs, equipment specifications, and system layouts for compliance with project requirements and industry standards * Coordinate with design partners, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support system integration and project execution * Lead quality assurance, risk assessment, and commissioning activities to ensure safety, reliability, and operational readiness * Support the transition from project execution into sustaining engineering and ongoing operations Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field * 8+ years of experience with wet mechanical systems engineering, including plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, or process piping * Knowledge of industry codes and standards such as ASME B31.1, UPC, IPC, and ASHRAE * Experience reviewing engineering documentation, including P&IDs, specifications, and 3D models using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks * Demonstrated ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and external partners Preferred Qualifications: * Experience supporting semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or other high-tech manufacturing facility projects * Familiarity with BIM coordination, clash detection, and integrated system design workflows * Knowledge of sustainable design practices, including energy-efficient hydronic systems and water conservation strategies * Experience with control systems, including PLC and SCADA platforms, and system commissioning activities * Professional certifications such as PE, LEED AP, or CPD and experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows to enhance engineering processes and project execution Job Profile(s): Construction & Design E4 Relocation Level: TBD Before Getting Started Please review Micron’s Internal Job Application Policy on your regional PeopleNow Career Opportunities page before searching and applying for jobs. The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is: $123,000.00 - $208,000.00 a year Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
