We are excited to add a Payroll Manager to our Finance team! The position will pay between $126,000 - $152,000 plus annual bonus based on previous relevant experience, educational credentials, and location.  This is a hybrid position with two days a week in our Marietta, GA office.

 

The Payroll Manager is responsible for providing support and direction for global payroll processing operations through leadership, creative problem solving and solution development. The Payroll Manager reports to the Director, Payroll & Commissions

Responsibilities

  • →Oversees all aspects of daily, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll processes to ensure deadlines and goals are met for United States, Canada, and Japan
  • →System administrator for workforce management system, ensures accuracy of work shift timesheets, timeclocks, attendance, and paid time off tracking
  • →Ensure accurate calculation of wages and tax withholdings and company deductions based on federal and state regulations, pay frequency, and location
  • →Verify calculations of supplemental wages (commissions, bonuses, stock, incentives, ) and related deductions and reporting requirements
  • →Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, providing support and documentation of payroll data to the accounting and finance teams
  • →Generate reporting and backup for workers compensation audits and labor statistics submissions
  • →Balance and distribute  organization’s year-end forms, including W-2’s and T-4’s
  • →Ensure accurate and timely payroll tax filings by resolving jurisdictional tax notices, registration in new tax jurisdictions, and updates to tax rates and codes in workforce management system
  • →Submit and monitor payroll & tax  cases with workforce management system to ensure system issues and updates are resolved  
  • →Track and reconcile per payroll tax withholding liabilities and collections ensuring wages and taxes are balanced throughout the year.  Respond to internal and external auditors’ request for information, including Ohio Worker Comp and other monopolistic state policy audits and true ups
  • →Manage information provided in response to employee and external customer inquiries in order to educate and empower payroll customers
  • →Act as liaison to HRIS, HR Business Partners, Benefits and Compensation teams to best process employee lifecycle changes that impact pay
  • →Manage business rules in workforce management system including updates to tax codes, general ledger mapping, holidays, pay schedules, garnishment payees, and W-2 processing
  • →Initiate wire transfer requests for immediate payment of terminations, international payroll funding, and short pays/returns
  • →Access the need for off-cycle payrolls to address out of cycle payment requests and process as approved
  • →Act as primary contact for Analytics/BI reports for payroll data (delivered and ad hoc)
  • →Distribute communications from payroll department via workforce management system, company intranet and public relations team regarding pay calendars, year-end reminders, and other payroll related information
  • →Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations
  • →Follow company policies and procedures, Sarbanes-Oxley narratives, and SOPs
  • →Provide training and evaluation to enhance performance, development and work product
  • →Remain current on best practices and industry trends
  • →Conduct research, reporting analysis and special projects as
  • →Maintain a current understanding of best practices in payroll that will improve service delivery

 

  • 10+ years of experience in multi-state payroll and/or accounting
  • 5+ year managerial
  • Certified Payroll Professional required
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

 

  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient at managing time and resources and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, laws, and regulations
  • Ability to be proactive, flexible, and comfortable in changing environment
  • Experience with UKG (Ultipro) and UTM strongly preferred
