Seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to develop mission-critical software supporting some of the Intelligence Community’s largest distributed computing environments
This position works as part of an Agile product development team to build, integrate, deploy, and sustain applications that support large-scale compute clusters operating in highly available, mission-focused environments

Responsibilities

→Design, develop, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain Java-based applications supporting large-scale distributed computing environments
→Participate in the full Agile software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, software design, implementation, integration, testing, deployment, operations, and sustainment
→Develop software solutions that integrate with and extend commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and government off-the-shelf (GOTS) technologies
→Perform software code reviews, architecture reviews, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and root cause analysis
→Develop and implement automated test plans, test scripts, and software validation activities
→Support software integration and testing across complex distributed environments
→Deploy and manage software using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and modern CI/CD practices
→Develop and support software operating within containerized and microservices-based architectures.
→Monitor production systems and diagnose and resolve software and operational issues
→Participate in Tier III operational and on-call support as required
→Develop and maintain software for UNIX/Linux operating environments
→Collaborate with software engineers, system administrators, cloud engineers, test engineers, and mission stakeholders to deliver reliable and scalable solutions
→Mentor junior developers by providing technical guidance, conducting peer reviews, and sharing software engineering best practices
→Support continuous improvement of software development, deployment, testing, and operational processes

Requirements

Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
Five (5) years of experience in software development or software engineering, including experience with requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis and resolution
Four (4) years of experience developing software using high-level programming languages such as Java, C, or C++
Three (3) years of experience in software integration and software testing, including development and implementation of test plans and test scripts
Three (3) years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux operating systems, including Red Hat environments
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is highly desired and may be considered equivalent to two (2) years of experience
A master’s degree in a technical field may be considered equivalent to four (4) years of experience.
Degrees in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar disciplines will be considered technical degrees
Candidates must possess at least one of the following certifications:
- AWS Certified Developer – Associate
- AWS Certified Machine Learning – Associate
- AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

Experience with one or more of the following technologies or environments is highly desired:
- Apache Hadoop
- Apache Accumulo
- Apache NiFi
- MongoDB
- ActiveMQ or other message broker technologies
- Spring Framework
- Python
- Bash scripting
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Hybrid cloud environments

Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
