Are you looking to make an impact in a rapidly growing environment? Are you passionate about making Momo Medical more sustainable? We are looking for an ambitious student to conduct a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of our main product, the Momo BedSense, as part of our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) foundation.

You will use a combination of research, data gathering, and environmental mapping to establish how we can make our hardware more sustainable. Your insights will help advise Momo on how to further increase its positive impact on the healthcare industry.

  • Product Life Cycle Analysis (LCA): Mapping the environmental footprint of the BedSense across its entire life cycle, from raw materials to end-of-life.

  • Environment: Using your LCA findings to identify carbon hotspots and finding ways to reduce our impact.

  • Social & Governance: Reviewing how our supply chain and hardware choices impact people and ensuring our operations remain responsible.

Momo Medical is a fast-growing and ambitious scale-up in Delft that focuses on one of society's biggest challenges: the future of (elderly) care. In the next 10 years, the demand for care will double, while 30% of the current workforce will retire. With our innovative solutions, we want to both reduce the pressure on caregivers and improve the quality of care. In short, we want to improve the quality of life for nursing home residents and increase the job satisfaction of caregivers.

  • Lead the LCA for BedSense: Collaborate with our hardware, operations, and procurement teams to collect and organize data on raw materials, manufacturing, and distribution.

  • Map our footprint: Translate hardware and supply chain data into an environmental impact baseline.

  • Eco-Design Roadmap: Create a practical roadmap that outlines our key circular priorities and sustainable actions for BedSense moving forward.

  • You have a background or a strong interest in Environmental Engineering, (Sustainable) Product Design, Industrial Ecology, or a related field.

  • You have a good grasp of LCA methodologies and are excited to apply them to a real-world case.

  • You're an outgoing team player who enjoys talking to colleagues across the company to collect data, ideas, and stories.

  • You’re able to make things small and act fast in order to learn as much as possible.

  • You have an affinity for data analysis and research.

  • You speak English, and it is a plus if you speak Dutch.

  • You are open to hybrid working: At least 3 days p/w in Delft with a team that enjoys doing sports, working, and eating together.

  • You want to make a difference in healthcare at home and abroad.

  • You are excited about a fast-growing scale-up where no two days are the same.

  • Real-world engineering impact: Your LCA will directly influence our hardware choices and help us design out waste.

  • You want to work with enthusiastic and talented international colleagues who all work hard to make healthcare a little better every day and, at the same time, really enjoy lunch and (Friday) afternoon drinks together.

  • Duration: 2 to 3 months.

  • Hours: 32-40 hours/week, depending on your preference.

  • Start date: Preferably July. If this is not possible, we can discuss starting in August or September.

  • Compensation: €500 per month.

  • Perks: Thursday evening pizza, Friday afternoon drinks, daily lunches, team events, and lots of fun!
