You will support the Test Engineering team through hands-on design work, growing into a rigorous Test Engineer who plans and safely runs test campaigns across propulsion, structures and avionics. An ideal role for an early-career engineer eager to learn from an experienced team and help shape Canada's launch capability from the ground up.
Responsibilities
~1 min readYou will help design, build and commission major test infrastructure, develop testing standards and procedures, work closely with design engineering teams to plan and conduct rigorous testing, build CAD and FEA models, coordinate with vendors and contractors, and execute test procedures and reports with precision.
- →Assist in the design, build and commissioning of major test infrastructure across propulsion, structures and avionics
- →Support development of testing standards, procedures and test plans for the company's test stands
- →Plan and conduct rigorous testing alongside design engineering teams
- →Build CAD and FEA models and maintain precise technical documentation
- →Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to source components and manage fabrication
- →Draft comprehensive test reports and meticulously execute established test procedures
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering discipline
- 2 to 3 years of mechanical or electrical engineering experience (university design teams such as rocketry or FSAE and industrial internships count)
- Proven experience taking a mechanical or electrical design from concept through validation testing
- Hands-on experience in industry testing environments (rocket propulsion or gas turbine ideal; oil and gas, mining, nuclear or chemical engineering transferable)
- Practical experience configuring and using Data Acquisition (DAQ) systems and sensors
- Foundational understanding of requirements, interfaces, configuration control, and verification and validation
- Willing to perform duties in outdoor conditions and travel extensively to remote offsite testing areas
- Structured, detail-oriented mindset with strong communication, proactive attitude, fast-paced team player
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineers to develop comprehensive test plans
- Hands-on experience with NI DAQ units and LabVIEW
- Background in CFD or structural FEA
- Prior exposure to space launch or aerospace propulsion test programs
