ASFS is responsible for the execution of all Air & Space Force-related programs within I&S and for business operations and growth in this market. The Air & Space Force Solutions Business Operations manager will report directly to the VP/GM and will be a member of the ASFS senior leadership team. The Business Operations Manager directs all areas of business operations, both on a daily basis as routine issues arise, executing a wide and challenging range of support activities that underpin the efficient operations of this large and complex business, and looking to the future as they undertake the planning and execution of longer-term strategic operations and initiatives. The individual in this role will actively participate in all business reviews and decisions and manage all reporting requirements upwards. They delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel, identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within the business unit. They interpret companywide policies and processes and establish ASFS operating policies and processes that ensure the smooth operation of the business. They interact frequently with all levels of the business and with external management/stakeholders.
Specific responsibilities of this position will include but not be limited to:
Enterprise Rhythm-of-Business Orchestration: Design and enforce a unified cadence for MBRs/QBRs/MMRs—including pre-read standards, KPI thresholds, and corrective action tracking—ensuring upstream executive alignment and downstream execution.
Integrated Program Governance: Serve as the conduit between VP/GM and ASFS Leadership Team; consolidate program status, risks, and dependencies across multiple factory locations to drive cross-functional decision-making.
Board-Ready Analytics & Storytelling: Prepare executive-level reporting that synthesizes operational performance, cost/schedule outcomes, and mission-critical improvement initiatives into clear narratives and scenario-based recommendations.
Coordinating MBRs, QBRs, data call responses for ASFS, liaison with Functions, MMRs, monitor and tracking of training.
Planning and Management of ASFS facilities, including facilities rationalization, improvements and new requirements.
Program Resource Management at Scale: Lead cost estimation, allocation, tracking, and deep-dive variance analysis across a portfolio of programs; tie resource decisions to contractual baselines and operational capacity.
Forecasting & Executive Presentation: Prepare and present comprehensive forecasts—including sensitivity analysis to senior leadership and internal/external customers; translate complex trends into actionable financial levers.
Networked Facility Strategy: Direct facility rationalization and growth planning across sites; develop business cases for improvements and new requirements that optimize safety, capacity, and mission readiness.
Safety Program Leadership: Oversee proactive safety initiatives (e.g., hazard assessment, preventive maintenance, readiness reviews) aligned with corporate standards; track leading indicators to reduce risk.
Audit Program Ownership: Lead internal/external audits end-to-end—scoping, readiness, execution, and remediation—while strengthening control environments that pass inspection repeatedly.
Operational Rigor Frameworks: Establish and enforce incident management, change management, and release governance standards to ensure stability and high availability of platforms and services.
Capability & Training Portfolio: Monitor, report, and improve employee training across safety, compliance, and technical domains; tie certification pathways to operational roles and mission-critical readiness.
Culture of Accountability & Learning: Promote a high-performance culture through transparent metrics, root-cause analysis, and shared lessons learned; recognize teams for measurable improvements.
Community Investment & Sponsorships: Manage sponsorships and community investment planning aligned to ASFS priorities; track impact and employee engagement outcomes.
Integration & Realignment Leadership: Lead complex integration efforts (org design, process harmonization, systems consolidation) and realignment initiatives that enhance efficiency and reduce handoffs.
Predictive Analytics & Early Warning: Lead initiatives that use predictive models to flag capacity constraints, defect trends, and incident precursors; activate preventive actions to avoid customer impact.
Operational Readiness & Capacity Planning: Set capacity, staffing, and tooling strategies for peak-load scenarios; validate readiness through simulations and after-action reviews.
Coordinating MBRs, QBRs, data call responses for ASFS, liaison with Functions, MMRs, monitor and tracking of training
KPI Suite & Dashboards: Develop and track key operational metrics (availability, incident response, MTTR, throughput, customer impact, cost/schedule performance); publish role-based dashboards for transparency.
Variance & Trend Analysis: Perform recurring variance analyses across cost, schedule, and quality; drive root-cause containment and monitor the efficacy of corrective actions over time.
