Requirements
~2 min readThis is a technical position functioning independently with limited supervision. Work situations require extensive knowledge and the application of advanced expertise in the field of sleep disorders, and sound clinical judgements, actions, and decision making regarding unusual patient behavior, i.e. seizure activity, life threatening cardiac and respiratory abnormalities. Internal contacts are basically within the work group but may include patient care staff and management throughout the Medical Center. This position has external contacts with physicians as well as extensive direct patient care and patient contact on a daily basis.
- Polysomnographic training or Respiratory Therapy training or EEG Technology; or Bachelor's degree in health-related science or psychology; or combination of education and experience in a related field
- Boarded by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
- One year of polysomnographic technology experience required
- One year of scoring experience required
- CPR Certification
