Position Overview:
The Assistant Service Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the service department. This position supports the Service Director in managing day-to-day service activities, maintaining high standards of customer service, and driving departmental performance. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, detail-oriented, and have the leadership skills necessary to motivate and guide a team of service professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Service Director in overseeing all service department activities, ensuring efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Manage the flow of work in the service department, prioritizing and assigning jobs to service technicians based on skill level and job complexity.
Act as a liaison between customers and the service team, ensuring all customer concerns and needs are addressed promptly and professionally.
Monitor and maintain service department performance metrics, including productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction scores.
Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner, enhancing the overall service experience.
Assist in managing warranty claims and ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and submitted on time.
Support the training and development of service department staff to maintain high levels of technical expertise and customer service skills.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized service environment that complies with company and industry standards.
Participate in meetings with the Service Director and other department heads to discuss goals, strategies, and performance improvements.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Service Director to support overall department success.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in automotive technology, business, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in a service advisor or service management role, preferably in a luxury automotive dealership.
Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes, warranty procedures, and dealership operations.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and poise.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in dealership management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
