We are seeking a team-oriented individual with a passion for patient care and teaching who is:
- an academically oriented candidate with 2 or more years of post-fellowship experience; current fellow/recent graduates will be considered
- MD or DO with American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) certification (or eligibility) in Cytogenetics and/or Laboratory Genetics and Genomics or equivalent relevant pathology specialty training and certification by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic, Clinical, and Molecular Genetic Pathology and at least two years of practical experience in Cytogenetics / FISH / Microarray studies, with eligibility for medical licensure in South Carolina
- proficient in advanced practical, diagnostic, and interpretive skills in constitutional and oncological cytogenetics, FISH, chromosomal microarray, and next generation sequencing
- capable of performing and optimizing quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results
- knowledgeable and experienced in new molecular genomic and genetic test development, validation, implementation and quality control
- experienced in fostering collaborative relationships with clinicians and researchers as well as serving as a resource to technologists at the bench
- willing to participate in clinical and/or translational research endeavors
- an excellent communicator with a strong work ethic and a collaborative approach to patient care
- excited to participate in teaching medical and graduate students, and training pathology residents and fellows
- an active participant in the ACGME-accredited molecular genetic pathology fellowship training program
