This role plays a key part in supporting employee relations, onboarding and orientation, performance management initiatives, leave administration, and HR compliance activities. The expectation is that this will be a hybrid position based on business needs.

Nooter/Eriksen is an employee-owned company with headquarters in Fenton, Missouri, and Milan, Italy. We specialize in Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) design, fabrication, equipment, and solutions for power generation clients worldwide.

The HR Generalist reports directly to the Senior Human Resources Business Partner and is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department while ensuring compliance with employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.

As an HR Generalist, you will:

  • Support managers and employees with employee relations matters, policy interpretation, performance management, and workplace concerns.
  • Coordinate and facilitate onboarding, employee transfers, promotions, and separation processes.
  • Administer Leave of Absence programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and Short-Term Disability documentation.
  • Maintain HR databases, employee records, personnel files, and HR systems.
  • Track and maintain employee training records in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain job descriptions and job analyses.
  • Coordinate employment-related paperwork and employee documentation.
  • Partner with managers to establish measurable goals and performance expectations.
  • Provide guidance related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), harassment prevention, and employment practices.
  • Support Affirmative Action Program activities and annual vendor communications.
  • Assist with recruitment and talent acquisition initiatives as needed.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and employee experience.
  • Travel up to 10% as business needs require.

Requirements

We want the selected candidate to be successful in this role. The following qualifications are important for success:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification preferred.
  • Additional training in employment law, employee relations, or talent management is a plus.
  • One to three years of Human Resources experience required.
  • Experience maintaining HRIS systems and employee records.
  • Experience administering employee leave programs and related processes
  • Experience supporting performance management, organizational development, or employee training programs preferred.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Ability to identify complex problems, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams
