This position has regular contact with or control over Indian Children and Vulnerable Adults. In compliance with Federal Law, this position will not be filled by an applicant with any felonious offense or any of two or more misdemeanor offenses under Federal, State, or Tribal law involving crimes of violence; sexual assault, molestation, exploitation, contact, or prostitution; crimes against persons; or offenses committed against children.
HOURS WILL VARY DEPENDING ON SCHEDULING
The Resident Assistant is a member of Recovery Campus Team at Brighton Creek under the Behavioral Health Program. This position is responsible for aiding the transitional living program residents and performs the day-to-day activities necessary to ensure that the recovery houses are safe and up to code. This position reports to the Recovery House Manager.
Responsibilities

- →Assist with care and maintenance of recovery house.
- →Assist with acquiring, maintaining, and managing food, clothes and other donated supplies.
- →Assist with facilitation of recovery house meetings.
- →Attend weekly case staffing's.
- →Attend staff meetings to provide input regarding client services provision.
- →Represent agency through participation in community groups as directed by supervisor.
- →Provide client transportation as requested by supervisor.
- →Assist with researching and obtaining community resources.
- →Maintain records/files, documentation as requested.
- →Provide community education as requested.
- →Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
~1 min read- High School Graduation or GED
- Valid Washington State driver's license and be insurable under the Nisqually Indian Tribe's insurance policy.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis and fulfill general housekeeping duties.
- Must be willing to follow agency policies and procedures at all times.
- Must have a professional attitude and be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently as well as have the ability and willingness to take and follow directions
- Good organizational skills and proficiency at following through with assigned duties.
- Good communication skills (oral and written).
- Associate's Degree
- One year experience working in Behavioral Health Field.
- Experience working with Tribes and Native Communities.
Authorize and complete a background check prior to employment. Pass pre-employment drug screen. Ability to obtain CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
This position does not supervise.
Knowledge of:
Possesses the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
· Recovery focused, strengths based work in mental health/addiction recovery.
· Relevant community resources and methods for accessing them.
Skill in:
· Working with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
· Operation of personal computer and the use of job-related software.
Ability to:
· Understand each member's unique circumstances, personal preferences, and goals and incorporate them into daily work as well as any needed crisis response to help the member regain a sense of control

Moderate to light physical activity both indoors and outdoors. Must be able to operate a personal computer and related office equipment necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
