Security Officer

The Security Officer will protect people and property from possible criminal activity.

This position ensures the confidentiality, security, and accuracy of records, and promotes positive employee, customer, and community relations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required and outstanding customer service to fellow employees, customers, vendors, etc. is expected. Regular attendance is required, and on occasion, later hours or weekend time may be required with project deadlines and a neat well-groomed professional appearance is essential at all times.

• →Patrols and monitors an assigned area; reports suspicious activities to local authorities.
• →An eye for detail and the ability to remain extremely focused on tasks.
• →Monitors surveillance cameras, inspects property, and monitors crowds.
• →Tracing and tracking persons of interest for video surveillance.
• →Utilizing surveillance equipment to monitor and observe subjects.
• →Proficiency in operating surveillance equipment.
• →Reporting observations and findings to the relevant persons and creating reports.
• →Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people in the property.
• →Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation.
• →Provide assistance to people in need.
• →Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.
• →After business hours, checks doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure.
• →Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property.
• →Collecting evidence and other information as and when required.
• →Reasonably detains persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives.
• →Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.
• →Submit reports of daily surveillance activity
• →Submit reports of every suspicious action
• →Performs other related duties as assigned.

• →Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
• →Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.
• →Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary.

• Report Writing Training
• Narcan Training
• Mental Health First Aid Training
• Knowledge of the Nisqually Indian Tribe's history, customs, traditions, and ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
• Experience working with Federally Recognized Tribes.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Crisis Intervention & De-escalation Training within 90 days of hire.
• CPR/First Aid/AED Certified within 90 days of hire.
• Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets the minimum requirements established by Nisqually Indian Tribes vehicle insurance provider.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
