Staff Attorney

NMPP Energy, located in Lincoln, Nebraska is seeking a Staff Attorney to join our dynamic team. Use your skills, experience, and talents to help ensure that business practices, organizational documents and contracts are in compliance with applicable laws, policies and regulations; provide legal counsel, research and document drafting/review services.

The Staff Attorney supports the mission of NMPP Energy by:

• Drafting contracts, organizational documents, policies, regulatory filings, rate schedules and other necessary documents to complete transactions and ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies and rules/regulations.

• Conducting legal research/analysis; drafting memos summarizing findings.

• Monitoring dockets for federal regulatory actions.

• Tracking and communicating to internal staff the changes in terms and conditions of service provided by counterparties.

• Preparing resolutions and contract summaries for board meetings, as required in the organizational bylaws.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and 0-3 years of relevant work experience.

• Active license in good standing to practice law in Nebraska.

• Knowledge of legal research methods.

• High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting facts and information.

• Demonstrated ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

• No industry experience required – just the drive to learn and understand the NMPP Energy organizations!
