Responsibilities
~2 min readProgram Operations & Field Oversight
- →Lead the day-to-day management and administration of the Vacant/Development Lots and Area Maintenance programs, ensuring services are delivered effectively, efficiently, and in alignment with departmental objectives.
- →Oversee contracted program supervisors, field staff, work crews, and service delivery partners responsible for cleaning, clearing, and public realm maintenance services, including the College Point, Hunts Point, and Vacant/Development Lots Area Maintenance teams.
- →Monitor and provide program-level oversight of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual work planning; coordinate with field staff on crew deployment, transportation logistics, tools, supplies, and equipment.
Leadership & Staff Supervision
- →Supervise assigned NYCEDC and program staff; provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management to maintain a productive and motivated team aligned with NYCEDC's strategic mission.
- →Monitor staff performance, support employee development, and align team goals with departmental objectives.
Budget, Procurement & Resource Management
- →Prepare and oversee the annual program budget; manage expenditures and maintain current knowledge of program spending, trends, and resource needs throughout the fiscal year.
- →Prepare, coordinate, and manage procurements for equipment, supplies, and services required to maintain program operations; ensure inventory management controls are in place and adhered to by staff.
- →Support long-term planning for program staffing, supplies, equipment, and services.
Reporting & Compliance
- →Prepare required reports, compliance documents, and program updates for internal and external stakeholders, including work activity, attendance, equipment and supply usage, and operational performance documentation.
Stakeholder Communication & External Coordination
- →Serve as primary program liaison with NYCEDC senior leadership and internal stakeholders, as well as elected officials, NYPD, DHS, community boards, local development corporations, and other government and external partners.
Other Responsibilities
- →This is an on-site position requiring a five-day field presence to oversee work crews, with occasional travel to One Liberty Plaza; schedule may include weekend coverage subject to manager approval.
- →Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
~3 min read- Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Business or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in program operations, supervision of personnel, field operations, maintenance programs, similar operational management.
- Ability to acquire and maintain TWIC certification.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with close attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal oversight
- Valid driver’s license required
- Availability for 24 hour on-call response
- NYC residency is required within 180 days of hire.
