Warehouse Associate Palletizer (1st shift)

The Palletizer role within the Distribution Center (DC) at Ocean State Job Lot (“OSJL” or “Company”) builds pallets in line with Company established standards of safety, quality, and productivity to ensure merchandise is accurately prepared for shipment. This role regularly uses pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks, and radio frequency (RF) scanners.

• →Work with pallets through the entire cycle of activation, storage, and closing.
• →Build, stack, wrap, run, and sort pallets according to established standards.
• →Load and unload freight in an efficient and safe manner.
• →Operate and inspect technology including walkie talkies and powered or manual pallet jacks.
• →Complete RF scanning, consolidation, and documentation.
• →Separate merchandise to different store groups or designated areas.
• →Accurately label and date merchandise with identification number, packing slip information, and category number.

• →Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean work area to meet or exceed area safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• →Maintain compliance with standard operating procedures and OSHA standards.

• Ability to satisfactorily complete the Powered Equipment Training Program and attainment of license.
• Ability to satisfactorily complete the Splitting Area Training Program and pass the Splitting Area proficiency test.
• Ability to operate powered industrial equipment and achieve any applicable license.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to comply with established standards is required.
• Ability to learn to use a RF scanner and a wrapping machine.
• Ability to meet area productivity, quality, safety, housekeeping, and attendance standards.

• The DC warehouse environment is characterized by temperature extremes, noise, movement of conveyors and equipment, and other conditions associated with the operation of a high volume distribution center.
• Should be able to lift and move 50 lbs of material on a regular basis. 
• Should be able to bend, lift, stretch, and reach both below the waist and above the head.
• Works primarily in the DC warehouse environment. Must be able to remain stationary and/or continually move for up to 10 - 12 hours per day.
