Work schedule will vary according to practice and event schedules. These can change depending on availability of facilities and weather changes. Athletic events will take place after business hours, on weekends, and on holidays.

About the Role

Assist with the coordination of medical coverage for home and away contest, including scheduling of student and graduate assistant athletic trainers.
Athletic Trainer Responsibilities include:
Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses.
Evaluation of athletic injuries.
Treatment of athletic injuries.
Counseling and education of student athletes.
Requirements

Health/Physical Education, Sports Medicine/Kinesiology, Athletic Training or equivalent,
(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) -
Post Graduate Athletic Training Experience
- Master's
Health/Physical Education, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy
-
Experience working with Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapist
Certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Board of
Certification and/or American Physical Therapy Association
Prior to hire: Licensed by the state of Oklahoma as an athletic trainer Must be NATA BOC certified and possess or be in the process of acquiring state licensure.
Additional: Preferred Certification by NASM as PES, or by NSCA as CSCS.
- Extensive knowledge in OSHA guidelines and universal precautions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of NCAA Rules and guidelines.
- Knowledge and understanding of guidelines in the NCAA Sports Medicine Handbook.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA guidelines and universal precautions.
- Must be able to lift in excess of 100 lbs.
- Extensive amount of time standing per day.
- Must be able to deal with heat and changing weather precautions.
- Knowledge of NCAA Rules and Regulations.
- Experience and knowledge of organizing strength programs, especially for injured student athletes.
- Experience with aquatic rehabilitation
- Experience with teaching clinical and practice skills in CAHEP approved Athletic Education Program
