SCOPE
The Medical Secretary will provide medical administrative support to the Mindimooyenh Clinic in Thunder Bay. This position has a primary focus on providing excellent, comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the clinic team, while ensuring efficient operations. The Medical Secretary will act as the primary liaison between community members and clinic team, prioritizing confidentiality, accuracy in record-keeping, and community centered service.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary diploma in Medical Office Administration, Health Administration, Office Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of administrative experience, preferably within a healthcare, medical, or community health environment.
- Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, referral processes, and healthcare administration practices.
- Knowledge of PHIPA, PIPEDA and confidentiality requirements related to health information.
- Valid Ontario G Class Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, and ability to travel as required.
- Current vulnerable sector criminal records check required.
- Ability to speak an Indigenous language is considered an asset.

The full salary range for this role is $56,400 - $69,405 ONWA conducts annual performance reviews, and employees may be eligible for salary adjustments based on performance outcomes and available funding.
