Opal: Food+Body Wisdom is a local, female owned and clinician-led eating disorder treatment facility in the University District of Seattle, Washington that offers Partial Hospitalization Program and Intensive Outpatient Program.  Radically Open Dialectical Therapy, Exercise+Sport programming and clinic wide weight-inclusive practices are infused throughout our treatment.  With Opal’s founders and clinical leadership team being experienced clinicians and closely involved in the day to day treatment, staff are able to learn from experienced clinicians and see the integration of these unique treatment offerings in a higher level of care setting. 


Job Title: Residential Cleaner



Primary Responsibilities

General Cleaning & Sanitation

  • Deep clean kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, common areas, and shared living spaces.
  • Clean and sanitize floors, walls, baseboards, cabinets, countertops, sinks, fixtures, and high-touch surfaces.
  • Clean interior and exterior surfaces of appliances, including refrigerators, microwaves, ovens, and dishwashers.
  • Dust and wipe furniture, shelving, vents, windowsills, and other surfaces.
  • Sweep, vacuum, mop, and spot-clean floors as needed.
  • Remove trash and dispose of waste.
  • Report any damage, maintenance concerns, violations of lodging policies or unusual conditions observed in common spaces.

Resident Rooms

  • Perform light cleaning of occupied resident bedrooms, including dusting, vacuuming, and surface cleaning.
  • Prepare vacant rooms for new residents by completing turnover cleaning and sanitization.
  • Make beds and install clean linens when required.
  • Report any damage, maintenance concerns, violations of lodging policies or unusual conditions observed in resident rooms.

Laundry & Linen Management

  • Wash, dry, fold, and replace shared linens, including:
    • Kitchen towels
    • Bath mats and floor rugs
    • Shared blankets
    • Pillow covers
    • Other common-area linens
  • Ensure adequate inventory of clean linens is maintained.
  • Replace bedding in vacant rooms as required.

Move-Out & Turnover Duties

  • Remove and properly dispose of food and personal items left behind by departed residents in accordance with company policy.
  • Clean and sanitize refrigerators, cabinets, and storage areas after resident move-outs.
  • Ensure all items removed for cleaning are returned to their proper locations.
  • Prepare rooms and shared spaces for incoming residents.

Property Upkeep & Light Maintenance

  • Replace burnt-out light bulbs throughout the property.
  • Install window air-conditioning units during the spring/summer season (May–June).
  • Remove and properly store air-conditioning units during the fall season (October).
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged furnishings, or malfunctioning equipment to management.
  • Handle furniture, appliances, and property equipment carefully to prevent damage.

Additional Duties

  • Complete special cleaning projects as assigned.
  • Perform other cleaning, housekeeping, and property-related duties as requested by manager.

Requirements:

  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and stoop for long periods.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of residents. 
  • Capable of following instructions and learn new techniques
  • Strong time management skills in order to ensure all work is completed by the end of shift
  • Demonstrate an understanding of standard cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Self-starter who takes the initiative to determine and complete necessary tasks, even with minimal supervision
  • Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
  • Must be physically capable of performing 4-6 hours of physical work each day
  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds for short periods of time
  • Possess a strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to pass a background check



HOURS:

2x month, 4-6 hours/each time



COMPENSATION: 

$60/hour
