Job Title: Electrical Service Manager

Department: Optimera Tech

Location: Dutch Harbor, AK

Employment Type: Full-time, exempt

Reports to: COO, OptimERA Holdings Inc.

About OptimERA:

OptimERA is a fast-paced, multifaceted contractor operating in one of the most challenging environments in the United States — the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. From electrical power systems and construction to telecommunications and network infrastructure, our team is built on adaptability, technical excellence, and the shared goal of making things better for the next generation.

Our environment demands versatility. One day we’re maintaining critical systems; the next, we’re constructing new infrastructure or supporting emergency repairs in the harshest conditions imaginable. We don’t turn away from challenges — we solve them.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned electrical professional with project management experience, ready to roll up their sleeves and work alongside the crew when needed, whether that means managing schedules, wiring a panel, or booking flights to a remote site.

Job Summary:

The Electrical Services Manager (ESM) is responsible for leading OptimERA’s electrical and power services operations, ensuring the successful delivery of projects ranging from maintenance and construction to system commissioning and upgrades. This position requires a mix of management, technical, and field engagement skills to coordinate personnel, logistics, and customer relationships across multiple job sites.

The ESM will also serve as a mentor and resource for field crews, promoting safety, efficiency, and high-quality workmanship while representing OptimERA’s commitment to reliability and integrity.

This role may accommodate an approved rotational schedule for qualified applicants, with compensation aligned to the reduced schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the electrical services team, including scheduling, task assignment, performance oversight, and mentoring.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute electrical projects — from design and installation to commissioning and closeout, in collaboration with other internal divisions (telecom, construction, and logistics).
  • Provide hands-on technical support and participate directly in field work when necessary to meet deadlines or support the crew.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), National Safety Code (NESC), State of Alaska regulations, and company safety standards.
  • Manage assigned projects from inception to completion, including sales, estimates, budgets, material procurement, subcontractors, and job documentation.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders, including electrical staff, clients, engineers, and inspectors, to maintain professional communication and resolve project issues quickly.
  • Assist in developing internal training programs, SOPs, and safety documentation to maintain a strong and consistent service culture.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and improvement across electrical operations and support OptimERA’s broader strategic initiatives.
  • Support or lead commissioning, testing, and documentation of new electrical installations.
  • Be willing to perform “whatever it takes” tasks, including logistics coordination, cleaning job sites, ordering parts, organizing equipment, making coffee, or even going to get snacks for the crew on a late-night project. In other words, the ESM will be prepared to take the necessary steps to ensure operations run smoothly.
  • The Field Service Manager will leverage and support alternate OptimERA capabilities where appropriate.

Qualifications and Skills:

We encourage all capable, motivated applicants to apply. The key to success in this position is a strong work ethic, leadership ability, and practical field experience.

  • Required:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the electrical trade, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or project management capacity.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, distribution, and control.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing conditions.
  • Safety-first mindset with familiarity in electrical safety and lockout/tagout procedures.

  • Preferred (but not required):
    • Current State of Alaska Journeyman or Electrical Administrator License, or ability to obtain one within 6 months.
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional background.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or comparable experience in project delivery.
    • Experience managing remote or rural projects with logistical challenges.
    • Proficiency with scheduling and project tracking tools.
    • Proficiency with drafting software, ACAD or equivalent

Work Environment:

This position combines office coordination and field presence. Work is performed across commercial, industrial, and construction environments, often in remote Alaskan communities. Travel will include site visits, inspections, and hands-on work in variable conditions (heat, cold, confined spaces, uneven terrain).

Company Culture:

OptimERA values integrity, capability, and collaboration. We take pride in being a company where managers work beside their crews, and where every team member contributes to shared success. If you thrive in environments where flexibility, problem-solving, and teamwork matter more than titles, this is the place for you.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces. Must have good vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to perform technical and administrative tasks.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, paid holidays, PTO, and 401(k) with employer match.
  • Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
  • Tuition reimbursement for pre-approved professional training and continuing education.

Equal Opportunity Employer:

**OptimERA Holding Inc. will not discriminate against applicants, apprenticeship applicants, or apprentices based on RACE, COLOR, RELIGION, NATIONAL ORIGIN, SEX (INCLUDING PREGNANCY AND GENDER IDENTITY), SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENETIC INFORMATION, OR BECAUSE THEY ARE AN INDIVIDUAL WITH A DISABILITY OR  ARE A PERSON 40 YEARS OLD OR OLDER.
