Through creativity and connection, they help grow our community of supporters and ensure our mission to positively connect communities continues to shine.

The Role
Reporting to our Director of Marketing & Transformation, you’ll be the driving force behind developing and delivering our marketing strategy across both Australia and New Zealand. Leading an exceptional, high-performing team of marketing and communications professionals, you’ll balance big-picture strategic planning with a hands-on approach to manage internal requests, drive data-driven campaign insights, and keep our brand thriving. This is a 12-month, fixed-term maternity cover contract perfect for a strong leader who loves collaboration and making a genuine impact.

What you’ll be doing (in a nutshell)

  • Leading the strategy: Delivering on our current FY27 marketing strategy and jumping
straight into the development and delivery of our FY28 strategy.
  • Guiding the team: Managing and mentoring four direct reports (Strategic Marketing Lead, Brand & Communications Manager, Digital Marketing Campaign Specialist, and Media & Content Manager), helping prioritise their work and fostering a high-performing team culture.
  • Executing campaigns: Supporting and developing tactical execution strategies for a broad range of initiatives, audiences, and programs.
  • Managing internal requests: Functioning as a high-volume internal service department, taking marketing and communications requests from inception to delivery.
  • Driving data insights: Gathering and synthesising data to measure campaign effectiveness, report on outcomes, and provide smart recommendations to adapt our approach.
  • Keeping on budget and time: Overseeing all marketing, communications, and product projects to ensure they are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget.
  • Managing stakeholders: Collaborating closely with a diverse mix of internal and external partners to achieve our marketing targets.
  • Pitching in: Being ready and willing to take a detailed, hands-on approach whenever it's
    needed to support the team.

What you bring to the table

  • The experience: 8+ years of experience in a senior marketing role, including at least 5
  • years of experience directly managing people. Ideally, you've worked in a fast-paced
environment like fundraising, the not-for-profit sector, or an agency.
  • The qualifications: A relevant tertiary qualification to back up your years in the field.
  • Marketing mastery: Excellent knowledge across the entire marketing and communications suite—from brand management and digital/performance to media relations, content strategy, and website management.
  • Top-notch leadership: Exceptional communication, influencing, and mediation skills that allow you to connect with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset: Strong reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into improved audience experiences.
  • Project management chops: Outstanding planning and organisational skills, meaning you can easily prioritise, delegate, and manage budgets effectively.
  • The mindset: You are innovative, future-focused, and possess a genuine passion for our
    cause and mission.
