Orbital is seeking a strategic, creative, and hands-on Marketing Manager to lead the company’s marketing and communications efforts and manage a team of marketing professionals. This position will play an important role in strengthening Orbital’s brand, increasing market visibility, supporting business development, and promoting the company’s people, capabilities, and projects.
The Marketing Manager will oversee day-to-day marketing activities while working closely with executive leadership, business development, and operational leaders to develop and execute marketing strategies aligned with Orbital’s growth objectives. This position will have direct responsibility for members of the marketing team and will coordinate internal resources and external partners to deliver high-quality marketing initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and project manager who can develop a strategy, lead a team, manage multiple initiatives, and remain hands-on in execution.
This role reports to the President and the Chief Legal Officer of the organization.
- Lead and manage Orbital’s marketing team, including setting priorities, assigning responsibilities, developing team members, and ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
- Develop and execute Orbital’s annual marketing and communications plan in alignment with company growth objectives.
- Manage and strengthen Orbital’s brand, messaging, and market positioning across all platforms and communications.
- Manage the company website, including content, functionality, user experience, analytics, and ongoing optimization.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive SEO strategy to improve organic search visibility, website traffic, and qualified business opportunities.
- Lead Orbital’s social media strategy, with a primary focus on LinkedIn and other relevant B2B platforms.
- Manage and develop the LinkedIn profiles and thought-leadership strategies of multiple Orbital executives and senior leaders.
- Work directly with executives and subject matter experts to develop industry insights, articles, posts, presentations, and other thought-leadership content.
- Develop and manage integrated marketing campaigns supporting strategic markets, service lines, clients, and business-development initiatives.
- Partner with Business Development and operational leaders to develop marketing materials, case studies, project profiles, presentations, proposals, and client-facing content.
- Develop and maintain a company-wide content strategy and editorial calendar.
- Lead Orbital’s conference, trade show, sponsorship, and industry event strategy, including planning, logistics, booth design, promotional materials, executive participation, and post-event follow-up.
- Identify opportunities for Orbital executives and subject matter experts to participate in industry conferences, panels, podcasts, interviews, and speaking engagements.
- Develop and manage Orbital’s public relations and media strategy, including press releases, industry publications, media opportunities, and company announcements.
- Lead the company’s awards and recognition strategy, including identifying opportunities and managing submissions.
- Manage company promotional items, branded merchandise, signage, trade show materials, and other brand assets.
- Develop corporate communications supporting major company announcements, organizational initiatives, acquisitions, strategic priorities, and company milestones.
- Partner with Human Resources and executive leadership on internal communications, employee engagement, recruiting campaigns, and company-wide initiatives.
- Support executive leadership with presentations, biographies, talking points, speeches, and other communications.
- Establish and maintain marketing processes, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Monitor marketing performance and provide regular reporting on website, SEO, social media, campaigns, events, and other key metrics.
- Identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve marketing effectiveness and efficiency.
- Manage marketing vendors, agencies, budgets, and other external resources.
- Stay current on marketing, communications, SEO, social media, AI, and digital trends and identify opportunities to improve Orbital’s marketing capabilities.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to the marketing team.
- Establish clear goals, priorities, responsibilities, and performance expectations for direct reports.
- Develop team members through coaching, feedback, training, and professional development.
- Ensure marketing resources are appropriately allocated across competing company priorities.
- Establish workflows and processes that improve efficiency, accountability, and quality.
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate workload and priorities across internal marketing resources and external vendors.
- Evaluate staffing and resource needs as the company’s marketing requirements evolve.

Requirements

- 5+ years of progressive marketing and communications experience, preferably within engineering, consulting, construction, energy, utilities, industrial, or other B2B professional services environments.
- Previous experience managing or leading marketing professionals required.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies.
- Strong understanding of SEO, digital marketing, website management, social media, analytics, and content strategy.
- Experience managing executive social media profiles and developing thought-leadership content.
- Experience managing conferences, trade shows, sponsorships, and corporate events.
- Strong writing, editing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience working directly with executive leadership and senior business leaders.
- Ability to understand complex technical services and translate them into clear and compelling market-facing content.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience with website content management systems, SEO platforms, social media platforms, analytics tools, and other marketing technologies.
- Experience using AI and emerging technologies to improve marketing processes and content development is preferred.

This is a remote position. Compensation is based on market data and internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s location.
$120,000-135,000 annually (based on experience, qualifications, and location)
