Civil Superintendent

The primary purpose of this position is to complete the execution of all civil construction activities on assigned projects, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, on time, and in accordance with contract specifications and company policies. This role requires strong leadership, field oversight, coordination with subcontractors and project teams, and the ability to manage resources and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment.

• →Ensure all construction work is performed in compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
• →Coordinate daily activities of field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to meet project schedules
• →Monitor and report on project progress, productivity, and compliance with specifications
• →Read and interpret civil construction drawings, plans, and specifications
• →Verify that materials and work performed comply with the contract documents
• →Track and manage equipment, manpower, and material needs
• →Assist in developing look-ahead schedules and daily work plans
• →Provide leadership and clear direction to field personnel
• →Collaborate with project engineers, foremen, quality control, and safety personnel
• →Identify and resolve field conflicts or constructability issues with minimal disruption
• →Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, timesheets, and logs
• →Enforce company policies and procedures, including safety requirements

• →Responsible and accountable for incumbent’s own personal safety

The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation. 

The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment if required to work or visit the jobsite.  This may include a hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, personal flotation devices, or other equipment required by the work performed and location the work is being done. 

Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods in a field environment and tolerate exposure to outdoor weather, dust, uneven terrain, and construction noise.

The incumbent must possess the ability to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstances of the incident and as directed by the Safety Representative or other management personnel. Must be capable of evacuating the work area in a timely manner should an emergency arise.

The Company expects and requires incumbent and each of its other employees to observe and fulfill the above and all other safety responsibilities and actively work toward maintaining a safe workplace.  Failure to do so can result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
