Steel Transmission Foreman

• →Two years technical education or equivalent work experience
• →Willing and able to travel extensively.
• →Capable of reading and interpreting structural drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• →Be familiar with shop machinery and/or hand tools required for various tasks.
• →Possess good math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.
• →Must Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
• →Must have good communication skills, work well under pressure, and be familiar with a production-related environment.
• →Able to work in an outdoor environment including traversing difficult terrain.
• →Be able to pass a DOT medical exam.

• AMPP CIP and CP certification
• Experience as a certified welder.
• Experience with cutting torch
• Ability to operate a skid steer, backhoe, and front-end loader.
• Experience with concrete structural repairs

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); possess some specialized training or at least three (3) months of related work experience. Must successfully complete all aspects of an eight (8) to ten (10) week Foreman Training Program, covering administration, crew management, steel structure inspection procedures, steel structure surface preparation and coating application procedures, safety, and driver qualification.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations: Ability to maintain First Aid and CPR certifications (e.g., American Heart Associate, Red Cross). May be required to obtain (or work under) a state pesticide applicator license.

Technical Skills: Ability to effectively communicate using e-mail, read and follow maps, understand and follow complex procedures and specifications, and utilize a handheld data collection device (e.g., tablet or handheld computer). Must have strong computer skills and technical aptitude to learn Osmose software applications. Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. They must have full range of mobility in upper and lower body. The employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk; hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Work tasks require eye, hand, finger, leg and foot dexterity.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may routinely handle and/or apply preservatives, coatings, and/or other chemical substances. The position regularly works in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, cold and freezing temperatures, and exposure to poisonous plants, insects, and allergens. The employee may also be exposed to energized electrical equipment and will be required to take appropriate precautions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with short periods of loud noise exceeding 85 decibels.

Travel: Varies by customer and/or location and can include frequent and extensive overnight travel throughout one or more states for up to 3 weeks at a time. Extended work weeks and overtime hours are probable during peak work periods or for specific jobs. Must maintain consistent attendance record and be available for work Monday through Saturday.
