Part-time Field Technician for the Puma Program - Livestock Interaction Project (BACLIP)

• M.S., B.S./B.A. and ≥1 year of relevant experience, or >2 years of relevant experience
• Experience and comfort working independently in remote locations
• Good communication skills
• A positive can-do attitude, sound judgment, attention to detail, and ability to follow protocols precisely
• Demonstrable experience, and preferably certifications, associated with driving four-wheel drive vehicles in rough conditions
• Clean driving record
• Must be in possession of a current and valid driver’s license, and remain legally authorized to operate a motor vehicle
• Demonstrated ability to obtain and maintain vehicle insurance is essential
• Demonstrable experience with backcountry navigation
• Previous experience with puma research desired
• Previous experience driving 4x4 roads in the Santa Cruz Mountains desired
• Must live locally – commuting from outside Santa Cruz, San Mateo, or Santa Clara County would be impractical
• Preferred: Experience working in collaborative research teams and a diverse group of project partners
• Preferred: Some level of first aid training (e.g., wilderness first responder)
