Under the general direction of the Chief Operating Officer and in partnership with the VP of Operations, the Director of Capital Projects is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects across all Parc Center for Disabilities campuses and locations. The Director oversees projects from concept through completion while ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with organizational priorities.
The Director serves as the primary liaison between architects, engineers, contractors, government agencies, grant partners, consultants, and internal departments. The position also oversees the organization's long-term Capital Improvement Plan, Reserve Study, and Asset Lifecycle Management Program. The Director of Capital Projects focuses on approved capital improvements, major system replacements, renovations, and construction projects. The Facilities Manager retains responsibility for routine maintenance, repair, preventative maintenance, and day-to-day facility operations.
Responsibilities
~3 min read- →Partner with the Vice President of Operations and the Facilities Manager to distinguish routine maintenance and repair needs from capital replacement or improvement needs.
- →Coordinate project turnover so facilities team receives the information and training needed to maintain completed projects and new systems.
- →Capital Projects does not manage routine maintenance work orders, daily maintenance staff assignments, preventative maintenance execution, or normal maintenance vendor service calls.
Requirements
Education, Training and Experience Requirements
- →High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, facilities management, business, or related field preferred.
- → Minimum 3 years’ experience in managing commercial construction or capital improvement projects.
- →Experience with grant-funded construction preferred.
- →Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, educational, or institutional construction preferred.
- →Knowledge of AHCA, ADA, and Life Safety Code requirements preferred.
Special Certifications, Registrations, Licenses or Other Requirements
- →Valid Florida Drivers’ License with acceptable driving record.
- →Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.

- →Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, and other electronic tools
Physical Requirements
- →Frequent walking throughout multiple campus locations
- →Ability to inspect active construction sites
- →Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- →Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Schedule:
- →Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
- →This is an on-site role.
