The Customer Service & Warehouse Person at the Origin Group is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional pickup and delivery of customer and company property and assigned work in the warehouse(s). Origin includes Central Filing Limited, Guardian Central Limited and Vault Ltd.
Reporting to the Team Lead, Operations, this position supports the daily operational needs by ensuring property is transported, handled, and recorded accurately while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving and carrying out of Work Orders and operational tasks on a daily basis as allocated.
- Collect and deliver customer property including document storage boxes, packaged materials, tapes, and other items approved for storage, collection, delivery or handling.
- Load, secure, and transport items including customer and company property and retail items safely using company vehicles.
- Conveying or transferring property from one company facility to another or from one customer site to another.
- Verify item counts and condition during pickup and delivery; report discrepancies or damage immediately.
- Destruction or disposal of property and other Company waste at an approved facility.
- Complete required documentation or transactions using the O’Neil and Andrews (Routeware) Software Systems scanners or any documentation or forms prescribed by the Company.
- Maintain accurate inventory movement records with the use of the O’Neil and/or Andrews (Routeware) scanners to ensure proper inventory tracking.
- Provide professional customer service during onsite interactions, including confirming instructions and answering basic service-related questions.
- Follow company procedures for handling customer and company property.
- Safe operation of vehicles, hi-lifts, fork-lifts, hand-carts, shredders and other approved machinery.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as packing customer property away, preparing customer property for delivery, re-shelving existing inventory, the operation of shredding and/or destruction equipment.
- Security of premises and vehicles.
- Perform routine vehicle checks (fuel, cleanliness, basic safety) and report defects or maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and security protocols related to transportation and storage operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid Intermediate driver’s license (minimum requirement)
- At least a High School certificate preferred.
- Prior work experience preferred, although not essential
- Ability to lift and move storage boxes, items for storage (typically 20–50 lbs).
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Awareness of security and custody controls.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Basic familiarity with mobile devices and scanning equipment (training provided).
- The safe and secure handling of client and company property.
- The safe operation of fork-lifts, hand-carts, generators, elevators, lifts, Genie platform lifts, shredders and similar equipment.
