Principal Engineer

• Shape the technical direction across multiple engineering teams, helping ensure what gets built is scalable, maintainable, and aligned to where the business is heading
• Partner closely with Product Managers to explore ideas, challenge assumptions, and turn complex problems into practical, high-quality solutions
• Lead architecture and design discussions, setting the bar for how systems are designed and decisions are documented
• Spend time with engineers across teams in mentoring, unblocking, and sharing patterns that improve how work gets done
• Champion reliability and operational excellence by guiding teams on observability, system performance, and learning from incidents
• Bring a strong engineering voice into broader conversations, influencing not just how things are built, but what we build and why
• Collaborate across Engineering, Product, and Architecture to connect technical decisions to real customer and business outcomes

This role exists to provide senior technical leadership across PEXA’s engineering landscape, shaping both the technical direction and the product outcomes we deliver. You’ll act as a trusted advisor across teams, influencing decisions through expertise, not authority, and helping raise the overall engineering bar.

We are hiring for a number of Principal Engineers across the application and platform engineering space. Candidates with strong specialisations in modern application development, infrastructure automation or bringing API first thinking to life will be top contenders.
