Te whiwhinga mahi: The opportunity
We are seeking a vibrant, highly motivated health professional to join our Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP) team, where delivering a more holistic approach to health care is at the heart of what we do!
We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about people and is passionate about empowering a community to improve its health outcomes.
You will work as a member of the general practice team to provide focused brief interventions for tangata experiencing mental and physical health and wellbeing challenges. You will also be part of the Taranaki HIP team who will provide you with support and guidance.
It is preferred that you have experience working in mental health and talking therapies, particularly CBT, ACT, or FACT. You will receive foundation training in the primary care behavioural health model.
This role is permanent part-time working 32 hours per week.

- Be a registered health professional, with a current practising certificate.
- 3+ years relevant experience.
- Good communication skills and experience in group facilitation.
- Have the ability to maintain high standards of patient care.
- Practice through an equity lens.
- Good computer literacy.
- Committed to applying the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi to improve health outcomes for all.
