Academic Tutor

Prep Academy Tutors – Greater Victoria is seeking exceptional academic tutors to join our growing team in Victoria, BC. We provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring in students' homes and online, helping learners from Kindergarten through Grade 12 develop the confidence, skills, and motivation they need to succeed.

Ideal candidates will have one or more of the following:

• A Bachelor of Education or a degree in a teachable subject.
• BC Certified Teacher status (or eligibility) is considered an asset.
• Teacher candidates currently enrolled in an education program are encouraged to apply.
• Subject matter expertise in areas such as mathematics, sciences, English, French, social studies, or other academic disciplines.
• Experience working with children or youth in educational settings.
• Strong understanding of the BC curriculum.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation for in-home tutoring.
• Ability to successfully complete a Criminal Record Check.

We are seeking tutors with experience in one or more of the following:

• Elementary literacy and numeracy
• Reading and writing
• Mathematics (Elementary through Calculus)
• Physics
• Chemistry
• Biology
• English Language Arts
• French
• Social Studies
• Study skills and executive functioning
• University and college preparation

As a Prep Academy Tutor, you will:

• →Deliver engaging, personalized one-on-one tutoring sessions in-home and online.
• →Develop customized learning plans that align with the BC curriculum and each student's goals.
• →Support students who need remediation, enrichment, or exam preparation.
• →Build students' confidence, independence, and love of learning.
• →Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress.
• →Create a positive, encouraging learning environment where students can thrive.
