Turkey Laying Farm Technician

Prestage Farms is seeking a Turkey Laying Farm Technician to assist in the raising of turkeys for eggs and meat by performing the following duties. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• →Clean and fill feeders and water containers
• →Spray poultry houses with disinfectants and vaccines
• →Inspect poultry for diseases and remove weak, ill, and dead poultry from flock
• →Collect eggs from trap nests, release hens from nests, and record number of eggs laid by each hen
• →Pack eggs in cases or cartons; select, weigh, and crate fryers and pullets; and record totals packed or crated on shipping or storage document
• →Maintain feeding and breeding reports
• →Monitor feed, water, illumination, and ventilation systems; clean, adjust, lubricate, and replace system parts

• Work independently

• Communicate both verbally and in writing
• Must shower before entering the facility and wear a company uniform
• Must be available to work weekends

• Work with and around disinfectant type chemicals
• Perform constant walking, lifting, and bending
• Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Be exposed to outside weather conditions such as heat, cold, dust, and high humidity
• Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
