Waipuna Hotel & Conference Centre in Mount Wellington is looking for a Night Porter to join our small but mighty Night team .  We are located in a central yet peaceful location on the edge of the Panmure Lagoon.

This role works 10.30pm to 7:00am, so comfort working a night shift is essential.

About the Role

Working under the Night Manager guidance, the Night Porter is responsible for supporting overnight hotel operations during the night shift.  This role includes primarialy overnight operational support including cleaning, front desk/guest assistance and security monitoring of the hotel throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage overnight guest check-ins and check-outs
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest enquiries, requests, and complaints
• Monitor hotel safety and security throughout the night
• Conduct regular lobby and property checks to maintain presentation standards
• Assist with overnight guest services, portering, and car parking support
• Ensure phones are answered professionally and efficiently
• Prepare and deliver room service and early breakfast requests
• Set up breakfast and conference rooms as required
• Assist with general cleaning and presentation duties
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents in line with hotel procedures

What We’re Looking For

• You must already have the right to work in NZ
• Previous hotel experience is valued, ideally in a similar overnight role
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and remain organised during busy periods
• Professional presentation and positive attitude
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to health, safety, and guest privacy standards
• First Aid Certificate desirable

📅 Position available: 1x permanent full-time (minimum of 32 hours).
