Content Marketing Intern
Quick Summary
earnings calls, annual reports, customer conversations, regulatory filings, job postings, datasets, online communities, sales calls, or an obscure detail several searches deep.
Prodigal is the connected AI platform leading financial institutions use to run their operations.
We work with banks, lenders, credit unions, and other financial companies that lend money to people and manage those relationships over time.
These institutions make millions of high-stakes decisions every day. Who should they reach? When should they reach them? What should they say or offer? When should a case move to a human? How should that change based on the borrower, the account, previous interactions, and the regulations involved?
Getting those decisions right requires a deep understanding of the people, processes, rules, and edge cases behind them.
Prodigal has spent the last eight years building that understanding. More than a billion interactions between financial institutions and their customers have shaped the intelligence, guardrails, and AI agents we now run in production across North America.
Today, our AI agents analyze conversations, capture context, guide human agents, decide the next action, conduct customer conversations, orchestrate outreach, and help people complete payments and resolutions. They are connected, so what is learned in one interaction can inform what happens next.
We are expanding this swarm of AI agents across more of the work financial institutions do: originations, document processing, back-office workflows, servicing, and other critical operations where money, identity, people, and regulation intersect.
We are backed by Y Combinator, Accel, and Menlo Ventures, and work with 100+ financial institutions across North America.
About the Role
~1 min readAI has made it incredibly easy to produce content. There are more articles, posts, emails, videos, and opinions competing for people's attention every day.
We think this makes genuinely good content more valuable.
We're looking for a Content Marketing Intern who wants to become exceptionally good at understanding an audience, finding ideas worth talking about, and turning those ideas into work people actually want to read, watch, save, share, and come back to.
At Prodigal, good content starts with understanding.
You'll learn how financial institutions operate, how their teams work, what their customers experience, what executives care about, where processes break, and how AI is changing the industry. We go unusually deep into these details. We obsess over the people, processes, regulations, and edge cases that shape how this industry actually works.
That level of understanding should show up in everything we publish.
We want someone inside the industry to encounter something from Prodigal and think:
How do they know that?
And we want the content to be good enough that they keep reading.
Responsibilities
~1 min readIdeas can come from anywhere: earnings calls, annual reports, customer conversations, regulatory filings, job postings, datasets, online communities, sales calls, or an obscure detail several searches deep.
You'll learn to enter an unfamiliar subject quickly, understand what is happening, separate signal from noise, and find the part worth telling someone about.
You'll work across LinkedIn, articles, research reports, executive content, newsletters, customer stories, email campaigns, videos, event content, data-led stories, and formats we haven't tried yet.
You'll think carefully about the reader throughout:
- What would make them stop?
- What do they already know?
- What might surprise them?
- Where will they lose interest?
- What would make this worth sharing?
The headline, structure, language, examples, and design should all come from those questions.
You don't need to understand financial services before joining. You do need to be curious enough to learn it.
You'll understand how banks and lenders make decisions, how borrowers move through different stages of a loan, why an auto lender operates differently from a card issuer, how regulations shape interactions, and what changes when thousands or millions of customer conversations need to happen at scale.
Try new hooks, structures, research formats, visual treatments, videos, interactive ideas, event experiences, and approaches borrowed from great creators, journalists, consumer brands, and places outside traditional B2B marketing.
Some will work. Some won't. Pay attention to why.
A person may first see a LinkedIn post, later read a report, receive an email, watch a customer story, visit our website, meet us at an event, and eventually speak with Sales.
You'll think about how those interactions connect and whether each one strengthens the person's understanding of Prodigal.
AI should make you significantly faster.
Use it for research, synthesis, transcript analysis, idea exploration, pattern finding, alternative approaches, and iteration.
You'll still be responsible for judgment.
You should notice when something sounds generic, when a polished paragraph says very little, when an idea needs a better premise, and when one version among ten is clearly stronger.
As generating content becomes easier, taste becomes more important.
From day 1, Prodigal has been defined by talented, humble, and hungry leaders and we want this mindset and culture to continue to blossom from top to bottom in the company. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and want to work in a fast-paced, intellectually-stimulating environment where you will be pushed to grow, then please reach out because we are looking to build a transformational company that reinvents one of the biggest industries in the US.
