The Technology Counsel provides thoughtful legal advice and support to Analysis Group's consultants and administrative teams in connection with the firm's global technology operations and strategic initiatives. This position will negotiate and advise on a wide variety of technology transactions and partner closely with consulting and administrative stakeholders to support the firm’s governance of responsible technology adoption and AI innovation. This position also serves as a key resource for developing and communicating guidance and best practices related to the use of emerging technologies in a professional services environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • →Technology Transactions and Counseling – Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of a broad range of technology-related agreements, including with AI vendors, enterprise software and SaaS providers, managed and professional services providers, and IT infrastructure vendors. Provide strategic counsel on legal and regulatory considerations throughout the technology lifecycle. Identify and mitigate risks in balance with the firm's business and technology objectives.
  • →Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner closely with Information Technology, Information Security, AI Operations, and other firm stakeholders on the evaluation, implementation, and governance of technology solutions. Provide practical legal guidance on technology-related matters, assist in evaluating vendor risk, and help develop efficient cross-functional processes and standards for contracting and risk review.
  • →Technology Risk Management – Advise on legal issues arising from the firm’s adoption of new technologies, AI-enabled tools, data platforms, and digital workflows. Identify emerging legal and regulatory issues and recommend practical approaches to support the firm's responsible adoption of new technologies.
  • →Firmwide Communications and Guidance – Develop and deliver practical legal guidance, communications, and training materials regarding technology-related legal issues, AI governance, client and vendor obligations, and applicable legal and regulatory developments. Serve as a trusted legal resource for consultants and administrative staff on technology-related legal, regulatory, and risk considerations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of legal experience required.

  • An ideal candidate will have six to eight years of substantive relevant experience.

  • A combination of law firm and in-house experience is preferred.

  • Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex technology-related agreements required.

  • Experience advising on technology transactions, information security, privacy, and AI-related legal issues is preferred.

  • Experience engaging directly with IT, product, and/or engineering teams is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of technology contracting principles, including licensing, intellectual property, confidentiality, data protection, and cybersecurity provisions.

  • Familiarity with privacy, data protection, and AI regulatory requirements is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to translate technical and legal complexity into clear, actionable guidance.

  • Excellent judgment and ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.

  • Strong analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to learn and stay current on evolving technology and AI-related legal and regulatory developments.

  • Familiarity with emerging AI technologies is preferred.

  • Enjoys contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Analysis Group offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. The estimated salary range for this position is $220,000–$260,000. Compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including work experience, education, and skill level.
