Pulse is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Locum Paediatric Diabetes Dietitian (Band 6) to join a dedicated paediatric diabetes service within a reputable NHS Trust in Warrington. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, family-centred dietetic care to children and young people living with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary diabetes team including Consultants, Diabetes Specialist Nurses, Psychologists, and other Allied Health Professionals, contributing to structured diabetes education, nutritional assessments, and ongoing support for children and their families.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Provide specialist dietetic assessment and management for paediatric diabetes patients.
- →Deliver structured diabetes education to children, families, and carers.
- →Support carbohydrate counting, insulin-to-carbohydrate ratio education, and weight management where appropriate.
- →Contribute to multidisciplinary diabetes clinics and case discussions.
- →Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
- →Participate in audits, service development, and quality improvement initiatives.
- →Offer advice aligned with national paediatric diabetes guidelines and clinical best practice.
Requirements
~1 min read- HCPC registered Dietitian.
- Previous experience in paediatrics and diabetes (essential).
- Strong understanding of carbohydrate counting, paediatric nutrition, and diabetes management.
- Confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and patient education skills.
- A proactive, compassionate, and family-focused approach to care.
