As a Business Process & Automation Specialist in the Managed Services team, you will improve the workflows, data flows, controls and systems that support accounting, finance and payroll operations. You will identify manual or inefficient work, understand the causes of problems and develop practical ways to improve accuracy, strengthen controls and reduce effort.
Joining our HRMS team means becoming a key member of a team dedicated to automating and optimising HR processes for businesses . Working with accounting, finance and payroll teams, Managed Services, Technology and other stakeholders, you will turn improvement opportunities into practical solutions, including workflow automations, low-code applications, dashboards, AI-enabled tools and prototypes. You will help shape, test and implement solutions that meet business needs.

Key accountabilities
- Understand how processes work in practice, including business rules, data flows, controls, system dependencies and exceptions.
- Identify, assess and prioritise opportunities to simplify processes, improve data quality, reduce manual work and strengthen controls.
- Consider value, feasibility, effort, user impact and risk when evaluating improvement opportunities.
- Analyse root causes and design future-state processes that support accuracy, confidentiality, compliance and operational resilience.
- Translate business needs into clear solution concepts and requirements.
- Develop working prototypes using approved tools and technologies.
- Work with users, Technology teams, vendors and implementation partners to test, refine, validate and implement solutions.
- Support user guidance, training and adoption.
- Measure results, including processing time, manual effort, errors, rework, exception resolution time, control effectiveness and user experience.
- Record lessons learned and encourage the reuse of effective automation components, solution patterns and improvement methods across payroll and related processes.
Skills, experience and qualifications
- At least two years of experience in accounting, finance, payroll, Human Resources operations, shared services or another transaction-intensive environment.
- Strong learning agility and the ability to understand unfamiliar processes, tools and technologies quickly.
- Persistence, ownership and resourcefulness when dealing with ambiguity, technical limitations and operational challenges.
- Strong analytical judgement, with the ability to consider dependencies, exceptions, risks and unintended consequences.
- Clear communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts, limitations and risks in business language.
- A strong focus on accuracy, data integrity, confidentiality, controls and detail.
- The ability to work independently while recognising when specialist input, review or approval is required.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business analytics, information systems, computer science, software engineering, data analytics or another relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated experience, or a strong practical interest, in improving processes, using technology or applying data to solve business problems.
- Evidence of independently learning and applying a tool, technology or business process to deliver a practical result.
- Experience with one or more of the following would be advantageous: advanced Excel, including VBA and Power Query; workflow automation; data visualisation and dashboard development; generative AI, intelligent automation or document extraction; SQL, Python or another scripting language; lightweight system integrations or user interface prototyping.
- Knowledge of Malaysian payroll processes and related statutory requirements, including income tax, EPF, SOCSO, EIS and HRD Corp obligations, would be advantageous.
