Job Description & Summary

The opportunity

As a Financial Services Sustainability Consultant, you will guide clients through ESG regulatory frameworks—including CSRD, EU SFDR, and the Taxonomy Regulation—while supporting financial institutions such as banks, insurers, investment funds, and non-banking lenders. Beyond client delivery, you will help expand PwC’s sustainability advisory offering by applying and developing advanced approaches in areas like climate risk, sustainable finance, and ESG practices.

What you will be doing:

  • Contribute to defined workstreams within ESG reporting, strategy, and compliance projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

  • Conduct research on emerging sustainability regulations and market trends to support client work.

  • Prepare materials for client meetings and contribute to workshops and discussions.

  • Perform ESG assessments, gap analyses, and support the implementation of related policies, processes, and tools.

  • Support CSRD implementation, including data models, templates, disclosures, and documentation.

  • Contribute to limited assurance engagements on CSRD reporting, including testing, evidence gathering, and preparing workpapers.

  • Collaborate with PwC teams (in Romania and Europe) to apply consistent methodologies and ensure effective project execution.

  • Assist with business development activities such as proposals and client presentations.

What we need from you:

  • University degree or practical experience in environmental science (waste management, decarbonization, energy efficiency or carbon footprint), banking/insurance business and economics, financial and non-financial reporting or other ESG-related topic.

  • More than 2-3 years of relevant working experience in sustainability regulatory requirements and/or financial institutions.

  • Familiarity with the sustainability reporting frameworks (CSRD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR) standard is a plus.

  • Strong research, analytical and report writing skills.

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • High proficiency in English.

  • Excellent critical thinking, intellectual curiosity and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong personal initiative, agility and resourcefulness.

What we offer:

  • Professional development, trainings and a fast career growth opportunity.

  • A professional and team-oriented work environment.

  • Up-to-date technologies and methodology.

  • Competitive salary and attractive package benefits.

We appreciate the interest shown by all candidates. However, we wish to advise that only suitable candidates will be contacted.
