We are seeking a hands-on Controls & Automation Specialist to support maintenance operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role focuses on ensuring automated systems and production equipment remain reliable, efficient, and properly maintained through troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement efforts.
This position is well-suited for someone with strong experience in industrial controls, PLC systems, and electrical maintenance who enjoys solving complex equipment issues and improving system performance.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair automated production equipment and industrial control systems to minimize downtime
Work hands-on with PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, VFDs, sensors, vision systems, and encoders
Update, modify, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms)
Configure, maintain, and support industrial communication networks such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus, and IO-Link
Maintain and support safety control systems to ensure proper and safe machine operation
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to support maintenance and repair work
Assist with installation, startup, commissioning, and optimization of automated systems and equipment
Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reliability
Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and proactively identify potential hazards
Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and technical teams to resolve issues and support operations
Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and technical documentation for equipment and repairs
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on system performance and production uptim
Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Controls, or a related field
3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Journeyman-level electrical experience or equivalent hands-on background
Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC and HMI systems
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including 480V systems and motors
Familiarity with industrial communication networks and process control systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Working knowledge of safety practices in industrial environments
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field
Experience in high-volume or regulated manufacturing environments (pharmaceutical, consumer goods, cosmetics, etc.)
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
Familiarity with FDA- or ISO-regulated production environments
Experience with high-speed production or packaging equipment
Clear communication across technical and operational teams
Strong focus on reliability, uptime, and performance
Ability to support production targets and deadlines
Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies
Competitive pay range: $38–$42/hour based on experience
