We are looking for a Field Installation Lead to oversee crews responsible for installing structural and miscellaneous metal components such as stairs, railings, and similar assemblies. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day field operations, ensuring installations are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in metal fabrication/installation and is comfortable leading teams while coordinating with other trades and project stakeholders onsite.
- Direct and supervise crews performing installation of stairs, railings, and other metal structures
- Coordinate daily activities with general contractors and other trades on site
- Plan daily work assignments, including labor, materials, and equipment needs
- Review blueprints, drawings, and layout details to ensure proper installation
- Monitor work quality to ensure it meets project specifications and standards
- Support layout and measurement tasks as needed
- Serve as the onsite safety lead, ensuring adherence to PPE requirements and job-specific safety plans
- Verify certifications and qualifications of field personnel
- Conduct toolbox talks and reinforce safe work practices
- Complete daily reports, including field logs and vehicle inspections
- Oversee tools, equipment, and company vehicle usage and condition
- Communicate job progress, challenges, and updates to leadership
- At least 5 years of experience working with structural or miscellaneous metals (preferred)
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and safety documentation
- Solid math skills, including measurements, angles, and layout calculations
- Knowledge of AWS D1.1 standards and common welding processes (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GTAW)
- Current welding certifications or ability to pass a weld test
